    Windows 10 going into sleep mode randomly while lid is closed


    Hi,

    I've already updated power options to keep Windows stay awake when the lid closed. I experienced these settings and it's working correctly. But, during using the laptop gaming, programming, etc. windows going into sleep mode randomly. What is 'randomly'? Sometimes, It is 30 seconds, sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes 2 minutes, but it is happening absolutely.


    Besides, I've checked the event viewer to handle related errors but doesn't have any warning, error, and/or critical item in that time.

    Sleep mode when lid is closed

    When I close the lid of my Lenovo laptop with Windows 7, the computer doesn NOT go to sleep. The settings in Control Panel are correct: When I Close The Lid I have put SLEEP for battery and plugged in mode. How can I get it to go back to working normally
    and putting my laptop to sleep mode when I close the lid? I already had Windows 7 re-installed, but the problem is still there. Thank you Windows 10 going into sleep mode randomly while lid is closed :)

    Laptop keeps restarting after going to sleep (when the lid is closed).

    Hi Craig,

    It's possible that your lid close action is configured to shut down your computer. To make sure your settings are properly configured, you can refer to the steps below:

    • Right-click on the Start menu, then choose Control
      Panel.
    • Change the View by: option on the upper-right-part of the screen to Small icons.
    • Choose Power Options.
    • Select your power plan (e.g. High Performance), then choose Change plan settings.
    • Click Change advanced power settings.
    • Go to Sleep settings, then disable hybrid sleep.
    • Under Power Buttons and Lid, check if
      Sleep is chosen as action when lid is close.
    • Hit Apply and OK.

    If the lid close action is set to Sleep, we suggest checking if your drivers are up-to-date. When it comes to sleep mode issues, the driver related are network, chipset, and BIOS drivers. To update your drivers, you can refer to this

    When close lid during shutting down, PC go into sleep.

    Hello,
    I've got a problem (or a feature ? Not so sure) that when I finish my work, I shutting down my laptop, while waiting it to be shut down, I close the lid.
    The problem is when I close the lid, the laptop go into sleep mode, and when I back to work, I open the lid to press the power button and it resume the 'shut down' process.
    This hasn't happen before, any suggestion ? Many thanks Windows 10 going into sleep mode randomly while lid is closed :)
