Windows 10: Windows 10 had to rest the PC and when the next update happened it will not finish complete...

Hi

Can someone give suggestions - Have a windows 10 machine. The last update it will not complete the cycle and will crash. Rest the PC but kept the contents. Installed applications and it worked for two weeks. All of a sudden on an upgrade the same thing happens. Windows lock up with the HD light constant on and nothing will happen except you have to power off and then on again - I have SSD 1 TB and HD 2 TB?

Any suggestions.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
