Windows 10: Windows 10 hangs, while "working on updates "

My laptop dell latitude e6540, Intel corei5, 4300.2.6 GHz.i have installed windows 10 pro, version 1909. I have tried multiple times to update latest version released in may 202121H1.Download is ok,updating of windows is ok.The next step "working on updates" hangs at 48% on my each attempt and laptop screen stops at 48%.I am helpless to do any further step. I have to stop the pc by doing poweroff.And then every effort is undone and pc goes again to version 1909.kindly guide,

Windows Update suddenly hangs?

Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?

Thank you for trying to help , i did tried your suggestion but it did not work :/ , nothing seems to make it work on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709. In the meantime i have bought a new SoundBlasterX AE-5 and it did installed flawlessly , no problems whatsoever. it is up to Creative ( drivers ) and Microsoft ( bug fix ) to fix this huge bugs with Audio.

Windows 10 update hangs on downloading updates at 98%

Hi vinodh,

In step 3 you state to press enter after after each command but its written like one sentence,could you list them so we can identify each command please.my pc just hangs on "checking for updates" so i installed the win 10 updater and that just hangs on 99%
so i will try what you suggest above.
