    Windows 10 Hard Crashing Whenever It Goes To Sleep Or Hibernation


    For the past few weeks, my ASUS Zenbook has been shutting down unexpectedly when it's not in use whether I leave it on, close it, or manually set it to sleep or hibernate. I checked out the system log in Event Viewer and the most recent hard crash had this error log:The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first.     Task scheduler wakes from sleep/hibernation but PC then goes back to sleep/hibernation

    Hi,

    I have a HP EliteBook 840 G1 with Windows 10.

    I am looking to put my laptop to sleep/hibernation each night at a set time. Then the scheduler will wake the PC at a set time and run a .bat file.

    The Windows scheduler wakes the PC fine but after a few minutes it goes back to sleep/hibernation. I would appreciate any suggestions to prevent this.

    The laptop is connected to power the whole time and I have disabled auto sleep.

    Windows 10 computer doesn't go to sleep or hibernate

    I have a Lenovo desktop that will not go into sleep or hibernate mode. When I select sleep or hibernate from the start menu the display goes to sleep but the pc continues to run. I have tried formating the hard drive and installing a new copy of the OS and
    have all the latest updates for the os and drivers. I have read numberous forums with various suggestions with no success. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    One possible reason why your system keeps hibernating or goes to sleep is because of the power plan settings of your computer. To assist you with your concern regarding your PC hibernating, we recommend that you reconfigure the power plan settings by following
    the steps below:

    • Type Display on Cortana's search field and press
      Enter.
    • Select Power & sleep.
    • Under the Sleep option, click the drop down menu to set the number of minutes/hours you would like your PC to sleep/hibernate. We suggest that you select
      Never if you do not want you system to hibernate.
    • Close all windows for the changes to take effect.
