Windows 10 has a new feature, just noticed it. Weather Alerts. In Indiana, I notice a notification of a Tornado watch a few minutes ago. Don't know if that is related to the weather app or if it is related to something else. The weather app has not shown the Tornado watch yet. The Notification was in the same spot you get other notification about windows 10. I wish I took a screenshot.

    Cortana Heat Advisories

    Viktorija L,

This is a problem with the backend service that is sending the alerts. I do not want to disable weather alerts. What I want it is that I should only be alerted ONCE per weather alert. What has been going on over the course of the past 32 hours is that
the same weather advisories are alerted repeatedly.

A current case in point: as now (7/18/2015 9:17 AM) I have gotten 3 alerts over the course of the past several hours for a single heat advisory issued by the US National Weather Service Chicago issued From 7/18/2015 4:13:00 AM to 7/18/2015 8:00:00 PM for
Illinois counties of Boone; De Kalb; DuPage; Kane; Kendall; Lake; Lee; McHenry; Ogle; Will; Winnebago

I suppose that it might be the case that the "friends" over at the National Weather Service has decided they want to keep revising (editing) an existing advisory repeatedly, and Cortana is seeing each edit as a "new" advisory or something like that. I will
need to monitor the text details of the advisory notice over time to see if that's what is going on here... But this is new, undesirable behavior that has just started within the past few days.

Weather in Windows 10 Lock Screen

I had weather details on my PC Windows 10 lock screen.

My computer got a time bomb virus last week. I had to buy a new hard drive.

I installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 set the weather app to my location

set it to give details in the lock screen just like I did before.

This time my weather is not showing up.

I have noticed things are much different than before, its like a whole new OS

There are new things that weren't there before and a few things are not there as before.

How can I get weather in my lock screen?

Or has Microsoft removed that feature recently?

Those are probably coming from either Cortana or the WX App. You may see quite a few.. I am sure you know where to turn those off if need be.

  5. I was wondering if we'd get weather notifications. Unfortunately I live in Arizona where there is no weather. *Wink

  6. I like idea of getting weather alerts.
I live in central Florida - we have a lot of weather here.
But if I "took cover" every time my weather alert clock went off, I'd be spending all my time in the closet (so I just ignore the alert most of the time). *chuckle

I would like to know where the settings are for the weather alert, so I can choose which weather alert I want. I think I may have inadvertently disabled all of the weather alerts. I think it is Cortana that does it. I think Cortana has to be turned on even if you can't talk to her. This current build she doesn't understand me, past builds it was fair. I guess weather alert are controlled by Cortana.

Don't you get dust storm warnings from the National Weather Service?

  10. We do, but we haven't had any Haboobs thus far in my area this year; although I am surprised I haven't got any extreme heat warning notifications, because we've definitely had those.

I gather the following is the setting for these alerts?
