    Windows 10 has become unusable


    I have a simple machine that is only used for a few things at home. It has been very stable and reliable until lately. I started having problems end of October 2021 in the following order: 1 cannot print to a printer shared by another machine at home, 2 Excel 2010 and Word I found out hangs indefinitely when I copy anything, 3 Adobe reader hangs indefinitely if I select print. With these issues my machine is unusable and I basically have bricks sitting at home. I am dead in the water. I have looked at all suggestions by Microsoft and by other online and none of them do any good.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
