Windows 10: Windows 10 has vanished from my computer and my disk partition with it.

My PC recently updated to the 2020 anniversary release and I went to restart my PC because none of my games would launch and I got the reboot and select proper drive message. I did all the troubleshooting under the sun. Boot order is correct, Legacy/UEFI were interchanged, microsoft repair said it couldnt do anything, and I recently moved my disk to another PC for recovery and a partition is missing entirely almost like it got manually wiped. Apparently this has happened to other people as well its just very bizarre to me that windows 10 and my partition were nuked.

W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

- press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
- diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
- list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
- select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
- clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
- create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
- exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
- click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

 

Help! Data partition not showing under my computer

This is happening on a windows 2000 server. Our second partition of the system, for data is not showing under my computer. Here are the properties of it in disk management:





Now under logical drives its listed as F and shows free space available.

Please let us know, if you have made any changes prior to this issue.

I suggest you to remove the partition and check.

To delete an existing partition from Windows 10:

• Follow the instructions from step 1 to 5 from the above section.
• From the right pane of the Disk Management section, right-click the volume (partition) that you want to delete.
• From the context menu that appears, click Delete Volume.
