  1. Windows 10 HDD Erase and Reactivating W10 License

Hello person who has the time to read this, I have a problem that i've had for months now.

I've been thinking about wiping the hdd clean by taking it out and plugging it into another computer, then reformatting it (as it has several useless partitions), before placing it back inside the laptop. From there I plan to plug in an iso Windows 10 Boot disk and reinstall windows fresh and new.

Only one problem... i'm afraid of losing my license which I paid full price for when i bought the laptop. I've read articles about people wiping hard drives only to have their activation key lost and their laptop without a license.

I'm currently running windows 10 2018 edition. Someone help me please!

    :)

    Windows 10 upgrade license

    Hello guys,

I have 1 license of WIndows 8.1 FPP/retail license. I want to upgrade to WIndows 10, but I one thing is unclear to me.
If I upgrade, will WIndows 10 license be retail or it will "turn" into some sort of OEM license?

I ask this because I upgrade my PC, you know, more memory, replace HDD, and I intend to upgrade the MB and CPU to Kaby Lake platform sometime in the future, (and of course sell the replaced hardware)
This thing is not clearly mentioned anywhere.

    Thank you.

Does Windows 7 require reactivation if...

He is using AMD already. He wants downgrading to AM3. Don't know why??

If you change HDD + RAM simultaneously, Windows 7 needs to be reactivated. Only HDD cloning shouldn't require reactivation. As you are changing mobo + HDD (prehaps RAM upgrade too), you will surely require reactivation. If you have genuine license, you should reinstall OS (you might use Windows Easy Transfer). If you don't want to reinstall, you need to uninstall HDD, interfaces/system devices, and numerous other drivers (USB, HID, Portable devices, etc.), else your OS will be unstable.
I will highly recommend to reinstall Windows 7 and enjoy your migration.

A simple trick might be like this to avoid reactivation:
    1. Clone your HDD first and boot into Windows
    2. Use it for at least one week
    3. Replace mobo only without any other hardware change/upgrade and boot
    4. Use it for at least one week
    5. Do any other upgrade (RAM, Graphic card etc.)

Don't do two simultaneous downgrades/upgrades to avoid reactivation.

Windows 10 HDD Erase and Reactivating W10 License

windows 10 licencing and image backup??

Yes, it will remain activated. Things that seem to trigger a reactivation are changing the mobo, network card and maybe the CPU.
