Windows 10: Windows 10 Headset AND Webcam Conflict

I have Windows 10, circa 9/2020. I need to have both a Logitech headset and a Microsoft webcam/mic plugged in as I alternate between them for different contexts. One always stops functioning after I use the other. After a miserable two hours, my webcam camera is functioning but its mic "is not plugged in" even though they are one unit, and the headset mic is stuck in "Use as Default" and can't be "un-defaulted."


What makes it worse is there are at least four ways to access these devices: Device Manager list, Sound in Control Panel, Devices and Printers in Control Panel and right click on the speaker icon. These don't seem to coordinate. A change through one pathway does not to carry over to the other three. What a nightmare.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue
