Windows 10: Windows 10 Headset detection

I know questions like this have been asked a million times but nothing helps. I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 running Windows 10 Home. When I plug in my headset the audio plays through like normal but it doesn't recognize there is something plugged in and settings says it's playing through my speakers although it's not. This isn't a problem until I want to play a game or make a call and it doesn't detect my microphone. It tries to use my laptop microphone for everything and because it doesn't know there's anything plugged in I can't just go to drivers and reset or update anything because there are just my laptop speakers and mic showing.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Headset Mics not detected

• On the left pane, click View all.
  
• Select and run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

USB headset not detected

I have a Koss CS95-USB headset that work flawlessly with windows 7. After upgrading to windows 10 the headset does not work at all. Windows 10 does not even act as if it detects the device being plugged in. No pop-up saying a new device is detected, no
device in the device manager to even look at. I have looked at all the problem post about USB headset and tried all the solution listed but non of them are useful because they all rely on updating or changing the installed driver and since my device doesn't
even get detected no driver is installed to change.

If anybody has a solution or if someone can give me a USB headset model that definitely works with windows 10 that would be very helpful.
