windows 10 hibernate just Power off system instantly without saving memory to disk and then fail to boot back and stays freeze without any error message.


It feels like it just power off the system instantly as I press hibernate button, and then fails to resume from hibernation

I have had my own custom battery setup on Windows 7, where I could have max performance while on AC, but switch to minimum settings and 5 minute shut off if it switches to the UPS power supply.

Upgrading to Windows 10, it just hibernates instantly, while entering battery power.

I have reset the plans to default now, and set myself to Performance mode. My actual UPS battery quality is good, its 1500va and 1200watt, and holds the power for extended periods of time. The actual battery level I am at when cutting off power is 79%( although
it instantly drops from 86 to 79, but that's just the fact that my UPS is used. It still performs normally after that initial drop and lasts quite long.)

Regardless, I cut off power and the system instantly enters hibernation.

I have a higher end desktop computer that I built, but I tested that in Windows 7 and it did fine when entering battery power, and did not enter hibernation right away.

I upgraded from 7 to 10.

I can be moving the mouse and using it and such, but it will still go into hibernation. I also have no screensavers set up.

The UPS is in good quality and is capable of lasting long, I tested it a week ago with Windows 7.

 

S4 (hibernation) USB/network wake up

Hi,

I have this annoying problem. When my computer enters the S4 powerstate (hibernation) I can wake it up by just clicking with the mouse. Even when EuP is enabled the mouse can still wake up the computer. After a night of sleep I find the computer powered on. So not only can the mouse wake up the system, it also seems that network traffic can too.

I thought that hibernation was like power off but with the option to save the RAM to disk. At least before I always need to push the power button to boot after hibernation.

Any suggestions?

I suggest you to enable the Hibernate option from power settings and check if you are able to access the Hibernate in power options. Follow the below steps.

  Click on the Choose what power buttons do on the left navigation pane.
