Every ten seconds-- and it's a very consistent ten seconds --my computer pauses for a fraction of a second before resuming. When this happens, it interrupts any scrolling or typing that is going on and then lurches forward after a few frames, making it extremely disruptive. This only started happening a few days ago, and does not seem to coincide with any installed updates; it started apropos of nothing insofar as I can tell.Monitoring CPU usage in Task Manager shows odd results:They're very subtle, but those little spikes every ten seconds always coincide with a "hiccup". Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

The hiccup seems more like when you go to properties and click on the refresh menu option.
