Windows 10: Windows 10 Home Activation ... Purchased through Settings Screen but no product key?

I needed to activate Windows so I went to the Activation section in Settings and it had an option to purchase Windows 10, said no further action would be required. $140 later, and a purchase confirmation email, and it still says windows hasn't been activated. The watermark is still on my screen. The e-mail is basically just a receipt, no product key to input. Can't get anyone on the phone, the website just takes me in circles, and the phone number directs me to the website. I'm lost here.

Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.

Windows 10 product keys and activation - and the KMS angle

Changing the product key to the generic Windows 10 product key will reset activation to the standard retail channel for activation. It might just activate (if there was a previous digital license for Windows 10 for that computer established with Microsoft). Once Windows 10 is back on the retail activation channel, then more than likely changing the product key to the Windows 8 product key using the same method may work.
