    Windows 10 Home and Feature Updates


    Hello, I am thinking about buying a Dell laptop that will be loaded with Win 10 Home edition. The build update should be 1809. Does my license entitle me to all future feature updates (e.g. 1903 and future)? Or, is my build update locked at 1809? Is Win 10 Home edition subscription based so I would need to pay an annual fee for future features?

    Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
