Windows 10: Windows 10 Home full disk encryption questions

I have a laptop with a built-in Windows 10 Home OEM license, but I upgraded it to a Pro retail key I purchased to enable Bitlocker with boot up PIN support.

Now I need to make a Windows 10 vm, so I am considering reformatting my laptop back to W10 Home and using my retail key for the vm (or I will need to pony up $130 for a retail key...I like to avoid gray areas, so I don't use OEM licenses).

1. I have yet to find a good answer on the differences between Bitlocker and W10 device encryption...can anyone here elaborate some on this?
2. Can W10 device encryption have a pre-boot PIN similar to Bitlocker?

TPM and Full disk encryption

I have a new laptop (Lenova Yoga 730-13) with Windows 10 Home edition installed. It also has TPM for encryption. My question is this: Does TPM mean that I have Full Disk Encryption or do I need to upgrade to the professional version of Windows in order
to achieve this? Thanks

Encrypting the Windows System Disk - good idea or not?

Hi folks!

Simple question really.

Currently re-building my desktop PC and aiming for

Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) dual-booting with Linux Mint on a 240GB SSD.

A separate 5TB hard disk for data storage.

Not sure about how to set this up - partitioned as two separate drives one for Windows documents (and encrypted) and one for Linux documents (not sure whether to encrypt this or not). Any advice/suggestions welcome on this.

A third laptop hard disk for data security (copying any docs/files etc from the Windows data drive only).

Question is this.

Should the bootable system disk containing Windows 10 Pro be encrypted or not? If yes - can you suggest a suitable (& free) encryption solution.

Should the Linux partition also be encrypted - is it necessary and/or will it cause any conflict being dual-booted with Windows?
