Windows 10: Windows 10 home hasn't updated in 2 years

I have a windows 10 home OS on a desktop which will not update, for 2 plus years. This may help: 0x80070422We cannot change the registry value from Disabled. Access denied in Windows Updater. We have run troubleshooter on Windows Update which notes no problems. I seemed to have tried every posted fix for this problem over several months where I would spend a day or so attempting a fix. During these attempts I note that Windows Updater is no longer in the registry. Should I just try and wipe the system and reinstall Windows 10, not that I'm sure how to do that?

I am unable to install Win 10 due to compatibility problem. The message received is appended below.

Can anyone give a solution or work around for installing windows 10 on my PC

Can´t upgrade windows 8.1 to windows 10 in Surface Pro 3

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I had checked and Surface Pro 3 supports Win 10, and I created enough space. I also ran all availabe and pending update before trying to upgrade, but it hasn´t worked.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
