Windows 10: Windows 10 Home - Installing updates

Windows OS have always had issues with their OS update downloader/installer, but have never fixed it.

The biggest issue is when trying to download more than a few updates, especially the larger updates, the installer freezes and sometimes locks the computer. I had a work around with this, in previous OS, by manually picking one smaller update to download and install, and then the rest were no issue installing all at once. It was as if the installer needed to be 'woke up'. But this ability has been taken away in Windows 10. I have tried twice to install updates and it just sits at "0%". It doesn't even show me what updates there are prior to the installation process, and at no time does it tell me how big the downloads are.

I don't understand why we no longer have the right to see what we are downloading, how big the file is and download at our convenience and one at a time instead of everything all at once. Also, there have been many "important updates" in the past that had nothing to do with anything on my computer, so I hid those, to not waste my internet or space on my computer. That too has been taken away.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

keep in mind, as of recently, the FCU is installed on 5% of devices roughly.....

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time
