    Windows 10 Home Microphone Issues

Hello guys, before i made an account here i looked everywhere (at least i think everywhere) for an answer. I'm a game streamer. I own a ASUS ROG FHD 120 Hz i7-7700HQ 3.80 GHz (up to 4 GHz) 64GB DDR4 1TB SATA 7200 RPM + 256GB SSD nVidia GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X VR Ready. The RIG came with Licensed Windows 10 Home Edition. When i'm live streaming/recording microphone audio cuts every 3-5 seconds, cuts the beginning or the end of a word. I've tried 4 different headphones, professional gaming headphones with the same result. The only microphone that worked was the laptop integrated one (thou sometimes that one cuts too) and my logitech webcam mic which works very well actually. BUT for now i don't have a special quiet gaming room, and the open mic picks every noise, like the tv, the toilet flush lol, cars outside, my gf speaking on the phone, etc. What i have tried so far : any sound option available on my windows, any sound option available on OBS (the program i use to record/stream), reinstalled every audio driver, tried with the mic really close to the mouth ( thou mics are not suppose to be really close to the mouth but down to the chin), run hardware and device troubleshooter, and some more option i don't remember. Haven't tried a wired mic for now (i wont buy one since i already spent A LOT of money on professional gear to create HQ streams/recordings) but again, i don't want my mic to pick every sound around me. When i'll have my gaming room i'll have no problem with an open mic if that will be enough to get a very good mic audio. If you need some more information which can help you figure things out or at least try to, let me know. Thank you so much in advance.

    :)

  2. WIndows 10 USB Microphone Crackle

    Hey guys.

I have three devices using Realtek HD Audio.

    I am using this Microphone.

    http://www.amazon.com/Blue-

I've used it to produce awesome videos in Windows 10.

Recently, the microphone has been causing static when I speak into it.

I'm not sure at what point the USB microphone starting crackling... Maybe during the November update?

    In any event...

I have two Windows 10 64 bit laptops (HP, and Gateway), and there is static when I speak into them. The static isn't 100%, just enough to be totally annoying... And it seems like it's random.

Fascinatingly, the snowball works on my windows 10 desktop (64 bit) fine without any static. (The desktop is Windows 10 Professional, the two laptops are Windows 10 Home. I wonder if that's the deal breaker? Who knows). I am curious, have you had trouble
getting the Blue Snowball to work on Windows 10 laptops these days? Or windows 10 home?

Have you had any feedback from your end users about this?

I've been troubleshooting for quite some time, and am going insane!

Windows 10 Home Microphone Issues :D

    Thanks for any feedback...

  3. Can cortana read articles and/or books to me?

***I have a MS Lumia 950xl DS; Cortana's good on it.

***I, also, have an "all-in-one" HP desktop with MS Windows 10 Home. Cortana can't hear me; an error message said I need a different microphone. What kind of different microphone?

May be something other than audio that is causing this, and the audio problem is just by-product of whatever is happening.
First thing, download and run the free Resplendence Latency Mon program. It may point in the direction of what is causing the problems.

Resplendence Software - LatencyMon: suitability checker for real-time audio and other tasks

There have been many sound issues caused by Wi-Fi. If you are using Wi-Fi, does it do it if you are not on-line (Wi-Fi disabled)?

I never use wi-fi, i think it was on 1-2 times since i bought the RIG. I stream with 3500 video bitrate and that is because i'm not partnered with twitch, i can go so much higher but some option are available only if you are partnered, i have the best internet speed one can get.

Run the Latency Mon as previously suggested. Let us know how that turns out.

    Windows 10 Home Microphone Issues

Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. Also one or more ISR routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. At least one detected problem appears to be network related. In case you are using a WLAN adapter, try disabling it to get better results. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.

As I suspected, the audio problems are just a by-product of the system problems.
Look at the Stats and Processes screens in Latency Mon, that may help in finding the problem. What you posted is mostly the stock display when there are problems. You have to dig into it further to find out what is most likely causing the problems.
