  1. Windows 10 Home - msiexec.exe Always Running

My Microsoft Installer Tool - msiexec.exe is always running from the time I boot up. I have to turn it off in order to install any other programs. I cannot find any other programs that would be trying to install. Windows Updater is up to date. Scannow found nothing wrong with any system files. Most mentions of this problem in the forums goes back to 2010 or earlier. Any suggestions?

    :)

    msiexec problem

During each boot-up the last few weeks I am getting a strange Popup window labeled "Windows Installer" what does it mean and how to fix the problem. I run memtest86 for about 25 hours and nine full cycles and all was well. The SFC and DISM did not help either.
I have reduced my Startup listings down to ten programs. I also Searched my "C" partition for msiexec/* and then msiexec and nothing was found.

I have gotten to the point where one could define my efforts as insanity.

    Windows Installer V. 5.0.14393.0

    Windows 10 Home - msiexec.exe Always Running

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
