    Windows 10 Home System Update taking a long time

    I have a HP Envy17 laptop computer with an I7 processor. 16Gb Ram. digital hard drive, fast internet connection. I am running Windows 10...has been updated regularly. Home as I recall, but I cannot tell you the version as no access right now. Sometime very early..around 2 am or so I was doing a few things just to check it out as my fingerprint reader was not working all of a sudden ..all day. Reentered my fingerprint and ok. I checked for updates, all were installed. closed all windows, ran a Windows Defender quick scan and full scan no problems. Cleared my history. Installed optional upda

    Windows 10 Home System Update taking a long time [IMG]

    Your boot trace shows a High CPU and Disk activities, and it seems that the Intel Rapid Storage driver is the culprit;

    1. Update the Intel Rapid Storage driver;
    2. If the first solution doesn't help, uninstall this driver your Windows will use the standard Microsoft Storage Controller

    I hope this will help.

    Windows 10 update taking a long time

    Hi Steve,

    Your Windows 10 is still in the process of installing the updates. The update may be big that is why it is taking a long time to finish. We recommend waiting for at least 24 hours to see if the updates will finish installing and also to avoid corrupting
    your Windows 10 operating system.

    Let us know how it goes.
