Windows 10: Windows 10 Home to Pro upgrade failed - Computer says Home, Microsoft account says Pro,...

As above.Dell Inspiron 15 5510Came with Windows 10 Home.Went into my account on the Microsoft website, selected the Dell device, went to upgrade by paying $99+Tax to go from Win 10 Home to Pro.The transaction went through Microsoft website now says my computer is Win 10 Pro but upgrade through the Microsoft Store failed and winver reports Win 10 Home, as well as looking on the Property screen for the computer.and I can't find the key to try and re-upgrade my computer to Pro on the microsoft account website.Where do I go from here to find my key for Pro and try again?

Windows 10 pro

I need to change my motherboard, have windows 10 pro. When i google how to it says go to activation then add an account, my issue is there is no add an account option under activation? Or am I in the wrong window?



Not sure how to proceed, ive googled it and the same results. Do I have an OEM or? On the disk sleave it says OEI DVD?

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

Before we proceed, I need more information to help you better.

• Is Windows Pro that you have purchase a full version or upgrade version?
• What were you referring to when you say Pro? Is that Windows 10 Pro or just a Pro pack?
• Do you see any error message while upgrading Windows?

I suggest you to clean installation if you have purchased full version of Windows 10 Pro.

If that is upgrade version please perform an upgrade installation.
