Windows 10: Windows 10 Home - Unable Connect To Internet To Update

Hi, I just found an old mothballed laptop, and I wanted to try to get it updated, as it appears it was last updated in 2019... however it's a slim laptop, so has no port for me to connect an ethernet cable to it, and it can only connect to the internet via wifi, except it's not detecting a properly installed network adapter anymore.I'm trying to figure out what I can download to a USB drive to update it that way to get it working again...?It's using Windows 10 Home 64 bit, version 1809

Unable to connect to the internet on Windows 10

  Do you have a wired net connection or a WiFi net connection?
  

You can plug in the Ethernet cable directly to the computer and check if you are able to connect to Internet. There might be situations that you might have to install the pending updates and also to update the network driver.

You may try these steps and check the status:

  Run the Network Troubleshooter and restart the computer to check if this helps.

  You may try a different network adapter/connection type if possible.

  Further you may also check for Windows Updates with a wired net connection and check for updated drivers for the network adapter.

Unable to connect to the internet on Windows 10

Provide us additional information to assist you better with this issue:

• Are trying to access wired/ wireless internet connection?
• Are you referring to reset of the Windows 10 operating system?
• Were you able to see any error code/ error message while trying to connect the internet?
• Have you turned on Airplane mode on your computer?

This issue might have occurred due to incorrect networking settings/ corrupted/ outdated network drivers.

Let us try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to check if the Airplane mode is turned on. If so turn it off and check.

• Press Windows key, click on Settings
