Windows 10: Windows 10 Home v2004 "PC does not meet hardware requirements for Game DVR"

Windows 10 Home 2004 tells me that my PC does not meet the hardware requirements for Game DVR. While this message is a great improvement over the last version 19xx which just told me to 'try again', I am still trying to understand why.


My Config:

* Windows 10 Home

* Intel i5 7400 processor @ 3 GHz

* 8 GB RAM

* GeForce GT 1030 Graphics Card with latest driver


I realize my GeForce is not top-class, but should defintely be good enough?


Many on-line help tools tell me to stop a process called BroadCast DVR -- this process is not running on my PC. The dll's for this process are in the system32 directory not the exe

How to disable Game DVR if your "Hardware doesn't meet requirements"

First, "PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements for Game DVR".

But, FPS in-game is 30, locked by Game DVR.

People told me by disable the Game DVR.

But, the Game DVR option is greyed out because of "PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements for Game DVR".

Is this intended for Microsoft by telling me to buy a new pc/laptop?

after the recent update 1809 for windows 10 I cannot capture videos using
game DVR anymore. even tho my drivers are all updated and I did not have this problem with the previous version of windows. my laptop
meets all the requirements to run game DVR.

yet it says

"Sorry, this PC doesn’t meet the hardware requirements for captures."

It sounds like your graphics card may not be compatible with the recording functionality of Game Bar. Do you know what model your graphics card is?

Here's a page that lists the system requirements of Game Bar's DVR function:

If your PC doesn't meet those requirements, you won't be able to use Game Bar to record.
