  1. Windows 10 Home x64 Can't "Remember" Folder View in Directories on Removable Drives

I don't know about anyone else, but I believe I'm quite justified in feeling irritated and frustrated whenever I open a directory on a removable [USB] drive only to see Details view, when I have REPEATEDLY specified Pictures Large Icons. Why in the WORLD is this happening when I always take advantage of Properties> Customize> Pictures?

This has been happening since I got my new PNY Pro Elite USB 3.0 1TB P-FD1TBPRO-GE…and now, as I've been writing this, I respecified that view setting…and now I feel like gremlins are messing with me—becauseNOW Explorer.exe "remembers." I always test and retest my complaints/tickets before I submit them scientific methodology is SOP. When I find results thatdefy explanation based on personal knowledge and experience¹, I ask someone who knows more than I do: hopefullyYOU.

Maybe someone might be able to tell me what in Hoottenanny is going on? And how to fix it?

¹ I've been administering Windows platforms since 1984, starting with Windows 3.0, actually starting with MSDOS first. Since then I've administered mainframes and and an ungodly number of Linux platforms, so I'm no stranger to computers. The best lesson I've learned is, "ask if you don't know the answer," no matter HOW much you think you know.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
