Windows 10: Windows 10 hungs 1-2 times per day if Hyper-V activated

Hi. I am working with Docker, and recently i started a project on my home computer with Windows 10 Pro 1809 (17763.195).

So i installed Docker software and wizard asked to activate Hyper-V component.


After installation everything working fine, except one thing: windows hungs (no errors / blue screens) once or twice a day, no metter what i'am doing. Cursor just stops moving and sound starting to loop (annoyingly). So i have to restart my computer with hard-reset button. And my work on projects is not saved.


Its not related to docker itself - i disabled service from autostart, but windows still hungs.

The only thing that helps, if i disable Intel Virtualization Technology in UEFI, computer starts to work fine, but docker can't run virtual containers.


I really want to fix this problem, it seems, that linux working fine (i have dual boot).


sfc /scannow and chkdsk C: /f didn't find any problems


Any ideas ?

Where is the Hyper V Manager, How to I start it ?

I am trying to setup an XP virtual Machine on Windows 10 Pro.

I followed the steps in Neil Peterson article of 5/9/2016.

System Requirements - done - ok

Install Hyper-V - done - ok

Create a Virtual Switch - skip

Create a Virtual Machine

Create a Virtual Machine with Hyper-V Manager

These steps walk through how to manually create a virtual machine and deploy an operating system to this virtual machine.

  Virtual Machine to bring up the New
  

Uhhhhhhhhh - this step obviously implies one knows

1) Where the Hyper-V Manager is

2) How to start the Hyper-V Manager

Hi JamalWilson,

Hyper-V is built-in on your Windows OS, you need to turn it off first to successfully run Oracle Box as they will not work at the same time.

Here are the steps to turn off Hyper-V:

1. Press Windows Key + R

2. Type appwiz.cpl and click OK

3. Click Turn Windows features ON and OFF

4. Uncheck Hyper-V and click OK

5. Restart the Computer for the changes to take effect.
