Windows 10 I have two printers listed referencing the same wi-fi printer. Are both necessary? When selecting "Printers & Scanners > ManageButton >Printer Preferences" for the one with the name beginning "[HP46BA91]..." I get the HP settings dialogue. Whereas the other one presents by the looks of it a generic Window's dialogue that's not very comprehensive by comparison.I would like to delete the one with the name beginning "HP Officejet Pro 8210..." but don't want to lose comms with the printer...

  2. Printer Question

Alright so I have a Canon mp495 printer. The printer supports Wi-Fi printing. A while back I setup the printer and it has been connected to the network. The light for Wi-Fi is lit up and when I go to the network and click under my name it is listed there. However when my roommate tried to print something via wireless printing nothing happens. He can find it (as far as I know) but when he goes to print it just says connecting and then gets some sort of error. Ideas as to what is wrong?

    Printer disconnects from Wi-Fi

Part of an older post 10 Sep 2018 , at the time we were happy that the PC issue was fixed.
The printer was not the main issue.

The wi-fi connected printer get disconnected from Wi-Fi for no apparent reason.
Both of our pc's still have the wi-fi connection.
The only way to re-establish the wi-fi connection to the printer is to disconnect and reconnect the power line.
Once the connection with printer is re-established, we can repeatedly print again until we stop and the printer sits idle for a night, then the process starts over again.
I did reinstall the software, but to no avail.
In the event viewer it states to see trace logging, but I don't know how to find it.

Printer on my wi-fi not found by desktop since upgrading to Windows 10

My HP Envy printer is on my home Wi-Fi network. It has always worked with Windows 8.1 on both my laptop and my desktop. My Lenovo desktop has been updated to Windows 10. Although the desktop connects to my home Wi-Fi and accesses the internet with no
problem, when I try to print, my HP printer does not appear on the list of optional printers and the network connection is cut off. I've gone through all the trouble shooting steps, but when it gets to finding my printer, it cannot be found. Meanwhile my
laptop which is still on 8.1 has no problem in finding the printer and successfully printing. I'm hesitant to upgrade my laptop to Windows 10 until I get my desktop problem resolved.
