Windows 10: windows 10 in schools

hi all ,
we are looking to upgrade to windows 10 at a secondary school but are having alot of problems with it.
first off is the logon time when on the network , takes up to 2 minutes to logon first time and as you can imagine in a school , users are logging in in different locations all the time which will be incredibly frustrating for them ,
also is all the apps built into windows 10 like xbox , twitter etc which need to be removed as it's not apropiate for students to login and have xbox games on their desktop! , does anybody have similar problems or know a way to resolve the issues?

Log In With Domain Account On Windows 10

I'm having trouble logging in with my school's domain account on Windows 10. The account runs through Google, but at school, the Windows 10 computers are able to use the account without an issue. How do I log in with a domain account on Windows 10?

Unable to connect to this network.

I recently updated to the latest version of Windows 10. I am able to connect to my home network, but am unable to connect to my school network. My school uses a GoDaddy Certificate. I am no longer able to connect to the school network.

 

In that case my advice would be to stay away from Win 10.

 

The first sounds like a network issue where the connection between the credentials server and the classrooms is slow.

As for the second part, if the kids log in using non-admin accounts, you can generally control access to almost anything through group policy.

 

It's been a long time since ive been in school but I don't know of any schools that are using windows 10 as of yet. My advice would be to make sure your school uses a secure network and make sure that you have a strong firewall and virus protection across the network. as for boot up times slowness can be expected expecilly in such a large network. expecilly if the computers are older.

 

seen as the school bosses have made the decision to go ahead and get new equipment and a windows 10 license , keeping on 7 is not an option unfortunately , the login time isn't to do with the network as it's fine in 7 but it's the login animation that runs e.g. " hi , where setting things up for you" which takes forever , we've been looking at setting up a mandatory profile but with no success , we've also looked at exporting the windows 10 start layout to an XML document and applying via group policy but that doesn't work either so we are abit stuck

 

Hi to remove Xbox 360, Twitter, Facebook and any app they don't want go to start that is the 4 squares,
Click on it then scroll down to all Apps
Find the App you want.
Right click and a little pop up will appear
Just click uninstall and just follow the Prompt

I had the same issue with 10 Pro. You cannot remove the XBOX app, but you can hide it. I found an automated app that you run via PowerShell that removes/hides pretty much everything. Then a couple of registry edits, and they don't show up for any new user that logs in.

after that is done I would recommend cloning the disk somehow (I use Macrium Reflect) so that way if it fails, you have a starting point. And as to why MS made the XBOX integrated with 10 is beyond me. For a professional setting, it is unacceptable. Sadly, the contact support & cortana will not go away, as a few other apps will not either.

 

and I didn't make the ps1 file. I found it elsewhere. It has worked for me 4 - 5 times with no side effects. I just compiled this info, others made it go.
