Windows 10: Windows 10 -- Incorrect Optimal Resolution notification pops up on Wake

I have a computer connected to a 1920x1080 monitor. When it wakes up, I get a Optimal Resolution Notification is 3840x2160 message. This is clearly wrong. The maximum this computer can do is 1920x1080. It has never been set differently.


Microsoft please fix. You can also see my Windows 10 settings are not syncing either -- it isn't using Dark Mode. Sync never works (wallpaper, login screen, theme, etc).

Optimal Resolution Notification

Hi , I need help . Im playing Psychic Doom Mu game in my windows 10 Lenovo G40 .And everytime im playing it my game suddenly goes out and Optimal Resolution Notification Pop up always it says "This is not the optimal screen resolution for the primary display
The optimal Resolution is 1366x768 .Also igfxTRAY.exe pops up.. How to fix this so that i can play the game not crashing always

Optimal Resolution Notification

Once again, I'm plagued with this annoying pop-up-- this time, when trying to play older games, the pop-up causes the game to minimize, while the unwanted Windows "Optimal Resolution" warning pops up, unwanted, not needed, no way to prevent.

Notebook: I do **not** have Intel graphics, so the link describing igfxTRAY.exe *does* *not* *work*. The graphics card is an NVIDIA GTX 1070.

I queried over on NVIDIA site, and was politely informed it is a Windows 10 issue (when is it **not**?).

I have edited the registry in a seemingly vain attempt to **block** this useless and unwanted pop-up from Microsoft Windows 10.

None of the edits, which were directly affecting the NVIDIA suite/drivers, blocked the notification popup.

Turning off all notifications? Also has zero effect.

The web is full of complaints-- and zero effective solutions. Meanwhile microsoft responds with repeated boiler-plate non-answers: "boot into safe mode" "update drivers" "run registry scans" "check for viruses", etc, etc, etc-- **none** of which have zip-all
to do with the problem of NOT WANTING THE POP UP IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I suppose I am running a "virus" of a sort ... it's called "windows 10"... possibly the most "nanny-state" version Microsoft has released to date...

But nobody can answer how to disable "optimal resolution" popup?
