Windows 10: Windows 10 incredibly slow on good pc

Hi, I have a computer here running Windows 10 Pro. It has decent specs, yet the OS and several programs run as if they are running an an underspeced machine. This is a new issue, and in fact seems to have worsened after I upgraded the RAM, which to me, seems like it should have helped.


I've googled this and searched everywhere, and it came up inconclusive. I don't know what to do.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 incredibly slow boot times.

Hi,

After upgrading from windows 8.1 to windows 10 my computer suffers from incredibly slow boot times.

It boots to a black screen with white loading circle in the middle, I have timed it and it takes 5 minutes plus to reach the logon screen from the black screen.

Can anyone suggest what may be the problem?
