Windows 10: Windows 10 - Infinite Loop of: "Preparing Automatic Repair" > "Diagnosing PC" > "Checking...

Hello everyone!


I am about to throw this newest Microsoft computer out the window! I am currently typing on this forum with good ol' windows 7 and I'm looking for help to fix this Windows 10 PC.


As per the title since I updated the computer to the most recent Windows updates it is now in the infinite loop of trying to start then blue screen of death/Start up repair > restart > same loop > advanced options, etc.


What I have attempted:

• Trying to just continue into Windows 10;
• Trouble shoot > System restore (apparently no system restore point was ever made? )
• Uninstall latest updates (both types) > tries but it cannot, to both types of updates;
• Startup repair > can't repair
• Reset this PC > Keep my files > goes to about 30% then it undoes itself and is like haha no
• Command prompt > D: > D:\dir > cd \windows\system31\config > D:\windows\system32\config>MD backup > D:\windows\system32\config>copy *.* backup (then the PC said this is already created so I create copy"1") only 4 files are copies over the others are "in use by another program" or something along those lines. I don't continue with this process because it's not following the online tutorials I've followed.

My last option that I haven't tried yet is to fully reset the PC. I am hoping I do not have to do this because I have one single document saved to the desktop that is very important.

I realize that the laptop is stuck in an infinite loop between “diagnosing your PC” and “preparing automatic repair”. I will try to help you with this issue.

Suggest you to use the ISO file to repair your copy of Windows to check if that helps. You may have to use another PC to download the ISO file.

Diagnosing your PC/ Preparing automatic Repair Loop

Hello,

Laptop is just stuck in an infinite loop between 'diagnosing your PC' and 'preparing automatic repair'. Sometimes it comes up with repairing disk errors, but never stays and just enters the loop again.

Ive tried read numerous other threads online and yet to find something that works. Starting to think there is nothing I can personally do.

I've hard resetted and drain the power but it doesn't change anything. I've spammed F8 and it won't bring the options window up.

I have a Sony Vaio model SVE151J13M running Windows 10.

Looking for any ideas and opinions that can help get out the loop. Im happy to wipe the PC is that's what's needed.
