Windows 10: Windows 10 Insider Preview, error installing Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10...

I have 2 Windows 10 machines on insider preview. One is running fine, and recently installed Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems KB4568831.

The other machine seems to install it, reboots, spins after reboot for quite some time with the message updates are being installed etc.. After some time, it displays a message that "windows update we couldn't complete the updates undoing changes". Once it is done and I log in, I see that the same update is offered again. Looking in the logs I see the below message:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0920: 2020-07 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems KB4568831.

"

Is anyone else seeing this as well?

Can you unlock Windows 10 Technical Preview eventually?

If you had previously had Windows 8 installed, then no key will be required.
If you have installed Windows 10 Technical Preview on a new Hard Drive/ System, then 8 will have to be installed first for the key to be in place.
Technical Previews or "Insider" Previews have a built in expiry date so they cannot be used long term. You will have to upgrade to the RTM version when it is released.

 

Windows 10 Activation (Insider)

Hi!

I signed up in the windows insider program and got windows 10 free - the windows 10 insider preview updated to windows 10 pro.
Today i got another SSD and did a raid 0 on my system forcing me to do a clean install of windows but now it wont activate anymore.
Signing in with my microsoft account that was linked to the insider program didnt help.
Maybe i got this problem since i quit the insider program for several days and signed up again after i found out that my win 10 wont activate anymore.
Any ideas how to fix it?

How long did you wait for activation?
When I re-installed with a fresh install... it took a few hours to sync and activate.
However, it did, finally, activate.
