Windows 10: Windows 10 install - black screen after install reaches desktop

Tried multiple times to do a clean-install of windows 10, the installation goes through the process and I get through all the install steps. It gets to the desktop for the first time for a brief moment only and then the screen goes black. The monitor is still on, and i've waited a few hours.


I initially thought my SSD was shot so i tried another SSD with the same result. No error codes appear on my motherboard (A0 is shown).


Anyone else experience this issue?




Update:

- everything seems normal in safe mode, drivers all seem up-to-date (video card, monitors, etc). I tried uninstalling the display adaptor and restarting, got past the windows loading screen and to the normal log-in screen briefly and then once again the screen went black.


- attempted to run troubleshooter - won't work
- attempting to update windows to see if anything will help there - taking forever to load - not sure if this is the right path

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
