Windows 10: "Windows 10 install failed "X

Hi, after endless error notices ( you call it, I have had it !!) . I have tried so many "helpful" remedies from all the kind helpful people out there in our community and on you tube. Couldn't update or remove my old updates defender blocked from starting and a few other strange messages about my files. I have tried so many kind and sensible ways to get my PC back on track. In the end I decided to go for a complete fresh clean reinstall of my windows 10 home. First I tried a reinstall with my files and apps, then with my files. then without either. After an absolute AGE !!!. Windows install failed X. Then I tried it with the USB, With and without my files and apps and then a trial without any file and apps. AFTER ANOTHER ABSOLUTE AGE.,That little useless message. What in heavens name is that supposed to do to help me get my PC back to where it was ????.


I had forgotten to say that the last message I got before the (failed ) messages read thus C:\$WINDOWS~BT\NewOS.


no idea what it means !!!


I am willing to be told what and how to resolve my dilemma. But I am not willing to spend the rest of my life doing so .


Hopefully there is a person out there with the answer.


My PC knowledge is not great so if you can help, that would be wonderful but please keep it simple ( like me )

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
