Windows 10 install file extraction, blue screen and various errors

Windows 10 crashed with the dreaded blue screen of death. Upon reinstallation, it always gets to the file extraction process with one of several different error messages:
    Page fault in non-paged ares
    KMODE exception not handles
    Bad pool header
    IRQL Not less or equal
Could not install all files ERR code 0x8007025D
    Kernel security check failure
    Memory management

I have reformatted the HDD several times as well as doing chkdsk and have not found any errors. If I had some idea what was causing these errors, I might be able to fix it, but because the error keeps changing, it cannot be pinned down.

Further, I have tried installing W10 from two different USB sticks with the ISO file on them as well as a DVD with the ISO file. I even tried installing a retail version of Windows 7 from DVD and get the same errors.

Can anybody offer any help before I deposit the laptop into the garbage?

    :)

  2. how to fix unexpected store exception error message

I too have this after a clean install of Windows 10. Original build had Win 8. No restore to 8 after 3 clean installs. All drivers from Windows. Keeps giving blue screen with various messages. Says collecting data for error correction and will restart.
sits for hours hijacked by blue screen.

  3. BSOD when i run a game "Scarlet Blade"

    Hi Alexander,

There are various reasons why you are getting a blue screen error when playing a game on Windows 10. It is possible that there is a corrupted system file on the computer or an update is incompletely installed. To properly isolate your concern, please provide
    us the following information:

    • Have you made any changes to your computer prior to the issue?
    • Did the issue start after an update?
    • Does the same issue occur on your other games?

In the meantime, you can perform the solutions provided on this
    link
    to resolve blue screen errors.

From your description it sounds like a hardware error. Do ASUS provide any diagnostic methods you can use? If not you could try booting from a rescue disk and running hardware tests from there. One such rescue disk is provided on these forums: Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk

that was also my thought but I can't find any tools that will diagnose the problem in the command prompt. Everything I can find runs in the Windows mode and I can't get there. ASUS' only response was to send my PC to them and for $350 they will fix it. For that I would be better off to buy a new PC.

That disk I linked you to allows you to run hard disk tests such as HDTune and Seagate from the boot disk, you can also run graphics and CPU monitoring such as GPU-Z and CPU-Z. May help you explore a few things.

Where do I get those tools that run under the command prompt? I have no problem getting into the command prompt, I just have no idea where to get the tools once I am there.

If you boot from the rescue disk it will create a windows PE environment from where you can launch the programs that are provided on the disk. Click on the start menu and navigate to All Programs > HD Tasks > Diagnostic where you will find the tools. There are others in System Tools. Have fun!

This is a link to some ASUS diagnostics:
    ASUS PC Diagnostics - Download
There are other websites that likely have more rigorous tests for evaluating drives, CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.

Like I said, this happened while I was trying to install WIN 10, so there is no "start Menu". All the diagnostic programs I can find are designed to run under windows and so when I try to run them in the command prompt, I get a message saying it is the wrong version.

Again, when I went to that link, this is one of the messages: "ASUS PC Diagnostics is a freeware system information app filed under hardware diagnostic software and made available by ASUS for Windows."

When there is a malfunctioning Windows operating system and you want to check the hardware there are some options:
    1) Use a boot rescue as philc43 offered
    2) use bootable hardware testing software:
    RAM: memtest86+ version 5.01:
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
    Drive: Sea Tools for Dos:
    https://www.seagate.com/support/down...ls-dos-master/
    SeaTools for DOS tutorial
    etc.
    3) Use a bootable operating system such as Ubuntu/Linux
    Ubuntu tutorials

    4) To fix problems with the Windows operating system you may also be able to troubleshoot using a bootable windows 10 iso: Download Windows 10

Read the instructions I gave you carefully, The rescue disk loads it's own operating system, you are not using your installed W10 at all. It will work.

Did you actually read the description of the problem I am having? I DON't HAVE A WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM! I tried fixing it and gave up and tried reformatting the HDD. I can't get the installation files to load. Do all I have to work with is the Command prompt. Using that, I reformatted and chkdsk'ed the drive several times and have not found any problems that are detected.

I downloaded the SEA TOOLS for DOS and booted off of that CD I created and the DOS OS that was created does not recognise the drive. With that knowledge, I bought a new SATA drive and tried loading the Win 10 ISO file onto that drive and still am getting the same series of errors that occur when trying to extract the installation files.

This is exactly what I was trying to avoid (replacing individual parts) until I finally found the problem).

What happened when you followed philc43 suggestions with boot rescue?
    Did you test the drive?

We can attempt to fix the operating system on the drive using command prompt.
Alternatively you can use the boot rescue and test the drive.
It makes more sense to fix an operating system on a working drive rather than one that has problems.
