  1. Windows 10 install on a non-efi mobo

    Hello,

I'm trying to install windows 10 trough an usb stick made with rufus on a system that has a GA 970 UD3 rev 1.1 f8f (latest) firmware mobo.

System details: amd fx 8350, 16 gigs of 2x8 corsair vengeance ddr3, a GTX970 and a 480 ssd with a MSDOS partition table.

First I ran into a problem because my windows 10 stick had a GPT partition scheme, I figured out I had to install it with MBR instead because my mobo doesnt have EFI.

Now I get to the "install windows" screen but before beginning the install the setup asks for windows 10 drivers. "select a driver to install" and ofc I can't find it anywhere nor download it.

My researches tought me that this error occures when the usb stick is corrupt and I'm sure it's not, I have reinstalled it several times and tested the iso itself. A solution to this problem would be to install win10 in efi mode, alas, my mobo doesnt have that.

Help would be very welcome as I'm running out of ideas.

    Windows 10 install on a non-efi mobo

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
