Windows 10: Windows 10 install refuses to boot after connecting another Windows 10 install

Good day,I recently assembled a completely new PC, and still had the old PC and it's parts left, including the SATA SSD with my old Windows 10 install on it. I hooked up the old SSD to my new PC and started up, with the intention of putting the whole partition through a digital shredder before selling the SSD. However, instead of booting the 'new Windows 10' from the new M2 SSD drive, the old Windows 10 install from the SATA SSD was booted. It managed to start successfully and it seems like it did some stuff in the process - it displayed messages like "Getting devices ready". Now all of a sudd

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.

 

***G3258 Owners*** - Windows 10 will not install/boot when overclocked

Windows 10 just borked my bios some how. I know that sounds stupid but I have been perfectly stable for a long time since windows 7/8/8.1 but when I installed windows 10 it rebooted and started the install then BSOD. Ever since then my bios refuses to OC my ram back to what it was. Anything other than stock clocks I get the failed notice when I boot. NEVER had this issue before until tonight installing windows 10
