Windows 10: "windows 10 installation has failed" on my alienware alpha r2

How can I successfully set up Windows 10 on my dad's computer? It is running Windows 8.1 Pro at the moment. I gave this computer to my dad as a retirement gift, and he bought the $139 Windows 10 license already just yesterday. However, when he tries to run the Windows 10 installation on his computer, he gets the error message "windows 10 installation has failed". I don't believe it has to do with disk space as my dad's computer has about 800 GB free of space. I tried downloading Windows 10 on a USB to boot up my dad's alienware alpha R2 from the USB option, however when I pick the UEFI option

Windows 10 freezing and frequent crashing with my Alienware M17X R2

Hello,

I am experiencing frequent freezing and crashes with Windows 10 on my Alienware M17X R2. The crashes happen unexpectedly and the freezing happens when with high usage of the Disk and when initially stating the computer after a crash.

Looking to try and troubleshoot this issue to find the root cause. Not sure if it is hardware related or if the drivers are causing a lockup. Hardware shows no indications of a failure and has been tested by myself for any errors.

Here is my last post that directly relates to this issue. The tried suggested solution does not work anymore.

Windows 10 for Alienware 14x R2

Hi ,

I have not received the notification to install windows 10 till now. I have registered 3 months ago.

I tried to install it directly and after installation most of the device drivers were not working like the touchpad ,audio etc. so I have to rollback to windows 7.

Is the upgrade ready for alienware 14x R2 , and by when can I expect to get the upgrade notification ?

Alienware MX11 R2 worth it or not??

well, I'm not the owner of an R2 but I have an R1 and I can tell you that it's a beast with games and windows as well (this one is because of the fantastic 7200 rpm HDD), and the battery is so enormous that I got 7 hours 30 minutes out of the box while installing the software I use and the games I play (and this was with all the lights on and the screen at maximun brightness). with the R2 you should spect a little less battery life, but for 990$ I say: go for it!!
