Windows 10: Windows 10 installation issues during setup process

Hello, I had perfectly fine and stable running windows 10 installation since december last year, i decided to update to new windows (21h1), this installation failed disastrous: - First of all the "update and restart" wouldn't go away, and when i decided to "update and restart" it would take 10 mins for it to restart after which "update and restart" was still there. - Also windows update control panel would be stuck with please wait... After trying a couple things, out of frustration I pressed the reset button during restart and ended up with windows 10 that kept failing to boot no mater what i tried. Safe mode, everything. I decided to do a clean install. Used ubuntu live to grab and copy some important files from the installation drive to a portable and went ahead with the clean install. At first i tried the latest windows 10 21h1 from media creation tool. The installation (copy part) goes successful without any problems. But during the setup part (locale, Microsoft account, etc..) the screen goes black and the pc goes into a reboot loop and eventually get the screen that it tries to fix and diagnose. All in all very unusual installation. Its always around the same time. Depending how fast i go through the setup. Strtrail.txt gives after test performed "check installed lcu" which shows successful: Root cause found: ----- A recently serviced boot binary is corrupt. Repair action: Uninstall latest LCU Result: Failed. Error code = 0x825 What i have tried: - Install previous version of windows (20h2), same things happen. - Removed most unimportant hardware: drives, 1 ram stick, USB devices. All drives disconnected and used spare and working SSD as installation medium. All in all, i've installed windows 10 countless of times without any issues. This whole process is very unusual, so i recon there is a bigger root cause which i've yet to determine. Any help is appreciated as this computer is used for work, luckily the next 2 days are off. - - - Updated - - - Im going to try to: - Use a different USB stick for installation. Maybe its faulty. No changes - Run stress test on the pc using UBCD. Maybe the PSU is faulty No failures here with CPU/RAM stress test - Will try a different graphics card. Please do not let it my GPU, they are literally impossible to get at the moment - Installation without internet connection. Maybe some faulty driver gets pulled.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Win 10 clean install question

This is what I would do:

• Shrink the hard drive partition until it's small enough to fit on the SSD.
• Clone the Windows 8.1 setup to the SSD.
• Boot off the SSD and make sure that Windows 8.1 is happy (i.e., no complaints about activation).
• Upgrade to Windows 10 on the SSD.

This way, you know that Windows 8.1 has a valid setup on the SSD before doing anything else. Plus, the Windows 10 upgrade will be processed much faster on the SSD. Finally, you still have the hard drive setup to fall back to if anything goes wrong.
