Windows 10: Windows 10 Installation letters cracked?

I'm currently trying to get my windows 10 to be 64-bit from Windows 7 Pro 32-bit since I have 6GB of RAM and it looks like my current OS can't utilize this at all (says 2.89GB usable).

So I'm currently using a method to upgrade to a 64-bit machine using this guide here How to Switch From 32-bit Windows 10 to 64-bit Windows 10

I failed my first attempt because it doesn't seem to want to install from my USB which I created using the MediaCreationTool. Saying something like "my system is trying to install from a media device, please take out the USB, reboot, and try again" I'm trying again today and noticed something funny about the installation procedure which is this:


Yes, I'm using a Japanese computer and OS but I don't know Japanese well so I came to ask you guys for help if that's ok.
The part where I can choose which bit I want to install has some funny characters that look like it's cracked?
Can someone please tell me why this is and if this could influence a clean installation of Windows 10?
I really want a 64-bit OS.

Not sure what that's all about in the "bitness" selection.
Since you want to switch from 32-bit to 64-bit and you must do a clean install to accomplish this, your best bet is to get your install media from MSTechBench. You'll also want to grab your W7 keycode, in case you need to input that for activation.

I don't know just where you downloaded 10 from other simply selected the wrong language but you will want to review the thread for how to go about downloading 10 and not just only available from the MS Tech Bench Project page but there's the updated Media Creation tool. With either option you will need a flash drive over 4gb in size generally being an 8gb in order to use either the MC tool option or see the Dual edition ISO download in either 32bit or 64bit that includes both the Home and Pro editions. The Threshold 2 update or 10586.168 version 1511 updated TH2 build will see not only both editions but with the MC tool see both the 32bit and 64bit flavors of both explaining the 5.48gb taken up for the "4 in 1" "Windows.iso" file you can even save to a folder using the MC tool option if not seeing the immediate upgrade option first up or the second Create media option for seeing the 8gb USB Installation Key made up.

 

If it was me, I'd go with these steps:

1. Backup your important files.
2. Let Windows upgrade to Windows 10 32 bit for now. Once it is completely, make sure it is listed as Activated.
3. Wipe the drive clean and install Windows 10 64 bit. It will be activated, and you'll also have the benefit of a clean, efficient new install.

 

When I did the 7 laptop here the Start button was missing entirely and the AllApps wouldn't open when the 10240 went on last summer. That is also what is now present on the replacement brand Toshiba model new;y release in September I had to order in January when the old HP laptop went in December suddenly. At first the immediate clean install for the 32bit 10 Home had to go on to get a working OS and see if the clean install would then activate back then and later saw the 64bit replacement twice over when finding the OEM primary had to go! Fresh 64bit on a fresh primary was the end result at the time.

Now for the 10 Home VM on the second 10 Pro Insider Preview/7 Pro build the 7 key from another now unused 7 Home Premium build now lacking the original dial-up connection when the phone worker trashed the connection in a siblings apartment for the new line in another *Rolleyes*Mad that took the 7 key on the spot!

I don't think you will be seeing too much trouble getting 10 to activate once the 7 key is transferred over since MS is looking to push 10 everywhere possible at the present time! That even includes a grace for those with "questionable" installs in order to upgrade them into legit copies of Windows through 10. It's double edged sword MS is using this time around! *Nerd
