    Windows 10 Installation not working 64bit mode


    Hello Microsoft forums,


    I recently tried installing Windows 10..but I am facing major problems


    From the screenshot below you can see I am getting the "0xC1900101 - 0x20017" Error. I have no idea what or why this is happening, I am installing the OS on a brand new SSD.


    FOR THE 64 BIT:
    What happens is that once I selected the pre-settings Windows runs a quick install first and then reboots to begin the actual installation. At this point I get the "Choose an option" 'Screen. Presumably this only happens when setup has failed. It gives me the option to return to my previous OS (revert settings) or the halfway installed set up OS - "Windows Rollback". If i select that, the PC reboots and reverts back to my previous OS and I get the error message. (Stock pic attached)


    FOR THE 32 BIT:

    Works perfectly. No errors and windows, set up completed everything under 20 min without me being involved.

    Question: I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't be able to install the 64bit version, I believe I meet all the requirements, I have 8GB ram and a 64bit CPU.


    Any advice here? I really would like to utilize my 8GB RAM

    why does 64bit crysis not work?

    If you are running Windows 7 x64, you need to run the 64bit executable in compatibility mode for Vista SP1. That worked for me. If not that, try all the Vista compatibility modes listed.

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

    As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.
