    Windows 10 installation on a faulty hard drive takes to long


    Hello my hard drive is almost gone and tried to install windows again to recover some data from laptop from d volume , also deleted c volume to install windows again. Laptop works very slow and windows is taking ages to install, like 1% per hour is going up on getting files ready installation process and I don't know what else to do. Is there any way to speed up the install process or to recover my data without getting hard drive off or using apps like easeus ?( Laptop is runnin in safemod now , running a little faster but is far from normal ).Thanks

    Windows 10 update or Faulty Hard drive?

    You said you reinstalled Windows 10. Does this mean you ran Factory Recovery to reinstall the Factory Install which came with the laptop, your did the Windows Reset following

    Reset Your Windows 10 PC     or you made the media to do the gold standard
    Clean Install Windows 10     and followed the steps closely in the last link which results in the best possible install which will stay that way as long as you do.

    What I would do is from the last link do the full install while wiping the hard drive to clear the boot code and partition table which generates the error. Follow the illustrated steps which show how to do this, booting the media as a UEFI device if offered,
    choose Custom Install, delete all partitions down to Unallocated Space, click Next to autoformat needed partitions and begin install.

    If you still have problems you can test your hard drive with the maker's
    HD Diagnostic    . If this is a HP or Dell you can boot into these diagnostics now via the ESC or F12 keys. If your hard drive doesn't have diagnostics listed then use

    SeaTools for a USB Drive     .
