Windows 10: Windows 10 Installation restarts computer as soon as the Windows Logo shows on screen

I'm having a problem installing Windows 10 on a Lenovo V110-15AST laptop.

The laptop came with FreeDOS, and never had any usable OS installed.


So, I downloaded the MediaCreationTool20H2, created a Bootable USB tried a SanDisk and a Kingston usb stick and I also created a Bootable DVD DualLayer was needed for this...


Whatever method I use to boot the installation USB or DVD, it always restarts the laptop about 2s after the Windows logo shows for the installation software to start up.


I was worried that it is a harddrive fault and tried installing Ubuntu, which installs and runs without problems, so I tried and downloaded an old windows 7 ISO, which sadly can't see the disk, to create partitions tried "AHCI" and "compatible" settings in BIOS.

I also tried setting boot mode as UEFI and Legacy then subsetting UEFI First and Legacy First, and OS optimization to "Enabled" and "Disabled"...

I can't update the BIOS to a newer version, because it's an .exe file on the Lenovo support site, which I can't execute because I can't install Windows...


I also created a dual install USB media x86 & x64, just to have the advanced options at the OS selector, and tried all the "safe modes", which still resulted in a restart at the Windows logo.


I also initiated the Memorytester from the Windows installation media, set it to 15 passes and Full or extended or what the "max" setting is, and it completed without reporting any problems.

Any ideas what to try and how to continue?

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

DaRK did you try going to the laptop vendor page and download the chipset and video drivers? I would try that and test.

Why are there no Windows 10 drivers for my tested computer?
