Windows 10: Windows 10 installation

Hi,


I have an Acer Aspire 3 laptop that I needed to replace the hard drive in and after doing so have had countless errors installing Windows 10.

I created a bootable usb stick, enabled the boot menu on the laptop, plugged in and restarted.

upon restart i press F12 and the boot menu appears, i select the usb stick and it starts the windows setup.

after reading some other posta, i press SHIFT+F10 to start command line


> diskpart

> select disk 0 this is the correct one

> clean

> convert GPT

> exit

> exit


then restart again, which boots into windows setup.

from here I select Custom Installation and select the empty disk and hit next. It looks like it is going to start installing then presents and error


“Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install Windows, restart the installation.”


if i then restart and go through the installation again i can see the setup created new partitions, i select the largest of those and then click next, it tells me the partitions are not in the correct order but does continue. This time it copies all the files, gets to the installing updates step then gives the first error again, if i reboot without the usb stick installed, i get “no bootable device”.

I quickly tried an small linux installation and this seems to install and boot ok from the harddrive, just cant get windows 10 to install and its driving me crazy.

any pointers or help appreciated

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
