Windows 10: Windows 10 Installer issue and TurboTax

Anyone having issues with downloading updates and Statereturns from TurboTax.

I was able to install software but got an Error 1719message when attempting to download updates and State return. They have afix for Error 1719, on the TurboTax website but none worked for oursystem. Only way we were able to get update and State returns wasvia their Start Windows in Selective Startup Mode suggestion.

The 2019 TurboTax install and updates worked fine lastyear but now we have same issue with that program too. Last filing ofreturn was BEFORE the May 2020 update so we think something in that updatecaused the issue.

The message from TurboTax indicates it is Waiting for theInstaller Service. A different program or Windows is currently installingsoftware. This may be occurring silently in the background as part ofWindows or Microsoft Update or another background updating service orprogram. TurboTax is waiting for the other installations to complete.

IT guy said issue most likely caused by a corrupt Windowsinstallation. He mentioned the pending folder is missing inside theInstaller folder. Spoke with a friend who is having same issue. ITguys say only fix would be to uninstall Windows 10 and reinstall without lastupdate.

We are also having difficulties downloading Sonos updatesas well.

Please let Microsoft know if you are having any installerissues so they will repair in the next update

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

Cannot run new or old installations of turbotax after upgrade to Win 10

This issue might occur if the turbotax application is not compatible to run on Windows 10.

I suggest you to try installing the turbotax in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

For the issue related to booting the system, I suggest you to perform startup repair and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

  Press and hold Shift key and
  restart your Computer.

  Select Troubleshoot.
  
• 
  Select Advance Option.
  
• 
  Select Startup Repair.
  
• 
  Follow the on Screen instruction.

Windows 10 TurboTax Issue

I have the same problem. I'm using TurboTax 2015 home and business and am trying to install on my new laptop with Windows 10. It worked fine on the old one with Windows 7. I transferred all files using PC Mover. None of my five year versions of TurboTax
would work. Following community suggestions I deleted all TurboTax folders/programs. And then tried to reinstall from the CD, but first did the compatibility check changing it to Windows 7. I followed the instructions but still get a message when I try to
open the program indicating that windows 10 cannot locate the exe.
