Windows 10: Windows 10 - Intel Wireless AC8260 - will not function - Code 56 in device manager

I have read through multiple sites concerning workarounds on code 56 but just no luck. Here are things I have already tried.


- reset network settings


- Tried network troubleshooting


- Uninstalled multiple windows updates


- Set BIOS to default settings

- Attempted to find VPN software and uninstall this laptop is basically vanilla

- uninstalled device and software drivers via device manager

- reinstalled newest software drivers

- tried a USB wifi adapter with it's drivers I GET THE SAME CODE 56 IN THIS ADAPTER as in the internal AC8260


I have not tried a wired connection to my router since I can't find a ethernet dongle!! Dell Precision 5510. I would really love to have someone talk me off this ledge. Just too much time being spend with no movement getting this laptop on my wifi network. HELP!!

We appreciate your effort on this. We understand that you receive an error, The device cannot start (Code 10) for Intel Wireless Bluetooth.



As per the error Code 10 "This device cannot start. (Code 10)", we will need to update the drivers. However, as per the error message Code 22 "This device is disabled”. You will need to enable the device. For more information, see

Error codes in Device Manager in Windows.



We would like to know, if you were able to install the latest drivers for Intel Wireless Bluetooth. We would also like to know the make and model of the computer that you are using.



You may try updating the drivers through Device Manager and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand Bluetooth.
   
3. Right click on the Bluetooth device and select
   Update Driver.
   
4. If you do not find Intel Wireless Bluetooth under
   Bluetooth, expand Network adapters and check.
   
5. Restart the computer.

You may also want to try downloading the drivers from
Intel Website or the computer manufacturer’s website.

Intel Wireless-AC 7265 not functioning after latest Win 10 update (

After the most recent 1803 cumulative update, my Intel 7265 Wireless adapter no longer functions. When I look at it in Device Manager > Properties > General the message "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device (Code 56). I've
tried updating the driver (it's version 19.51.12.3) using the Intel utility - no change. I tried rolling back the update but could only roll back from of the cumulative updates. The wireless aadapter does not appear in the list of network adapters (only the
ethernet adapter shows up). This is a Lenovo X1 Carbon. How could a software update mess up something as fundamentally necessary to operation as the wireless connection? I am pretty sure the hardware is fine, and it wwas working fine prior to the update, so
I'm blaming the update. Any advice would be welcome.

I apologize for the delayed response.



We would suggest you to try uninstalling the drivers completely from the computer and reinstalling it from the computer manufacturer website. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand Bluetooth.
   
3. Right click on Intel Wireless Bluetooth device and select
   Uninstall device.
   
4. Now, select the checkbox for Delete the driver software for this device.
   
5. Download the drivers from computer manufacturer’s website and install them.
