Windows 10: Windows 10 Interactive Logon: Machine Inactivity Resetting to Zero

Interactive Logon: Machine Inactivity Limit Resetting to Zero and all of a suddent stopped working, now users account remains accessible with no timeout, this wasn't the case two2 weeks ago. GPUpdate doesn't seem to resolve this once the device is rebooted. How can I resolve this?

i have a strange issue with group policy.

i have created a child ou and blocked inheritance, so the only polixy that I apply is interactive logon machine inactivity limit and I want this so it doesnt lock the screen because it is used a wallboard.

i have created a gpo and it is correctly being applied to my machines.

So computers lock at 10minutes always, I have set this to 60 sexonds and ran a group policy update which correctly applies this setting and when I test it, this works and locks the machine at one minute. I have set it to 9 mins and a group policy update
and it works ar 9mins.

if i set it at 11mins it will lock at 10mins!

i have tried setting it to 0 and disabled this, it always locks at 10mins.

I can always see the reg key being applied at registry and is always set in seconds to what I want.

Registry Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Registry Path: \Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\

Can anybody please help!

Yes, I think, you are partly right. We are speaking about the same subject now. However the solution you suggested does not work.

I tried to gather a bit more information the option "Interactive Logon: Machine inactivity limit" in Local Group Policy - Security section at some internet forums. It seems, that this option regards a screensaver activating timeout, but not sing-in/login screen timeout (please look for instance here https://www.thewindowsclub.com/lock-computer-inactivity-windows-10 , the 3.rd section "Using Group Policy"). Yes, I understand that these two functions are related to each other, but they are not the same.

However I tried some tests with this setting "Interactive Logon: Machine inactivity limit". It seems, that this option affect the screensaver timeout (according to the statement at the page mentioned above), but not the sing-in screen timeout.

I tried many different combinations of timeout values in Screen Saver settings window and for "Interactive Login: Machine Inactivity Limit" in Local Group Policy Editor. The result is the following: whichever values I use (from 0 seconds and "None" to 599 940 seconds) there was no any difference, the timeout for login screen was the exactly 30 minutes with any values of Screen Saver settings and "Interactive Login: Machine Inactivity Limit".

Have you some other ideas which system settings could regulate sing-in screen timeout?

 

Interactive logon: Machine account lockout threshold?

Just a quick question here. I have my machine BitLocker enabled and there is this Group Policy setting in Windows 10 called Interactive logon: Machine account lockout threshold. I left this setting NOT CONGIFURED.

Since my Windows logon password is more than 10 characters long and complex, is this setting required along with using BitLocker? Plus, I am the only one using my notebook most of the time at home. And when I do decide to travel with it, I would never lose possession of it.

So is this mandatory?
