Windows 10: Windows 10 Internet Proxy Settings Bug

This has happen twice now within the last month, but I forcefully restart my PC due to it freezing completely, or something like windows explorer failed and refused to work again. Once I restart, my wifi or ethernet won't work anymore. Troubleshooting says it can't detect the proxy settings, but won't do anything, and I tried some proxy fix guides with no luck. Any idea if others had this issue?

I also tried restore since I created it, but it was greyed out forcing a reset. WTF?

Ever since the May update my Laptop has been f-ed up randomly. My desktop needed a reset too, but was more stable besides the internet issue.

Hi Mike,

To set up a proxy server in Windows 10, you may follow the following steps.

• Press the Windows key and I to open
  Settings.
• Click on Network & Internet.
• Under Proxy you can either Automatically set up a proxy or
  Manual set up a proxy server.

Great to hear that you were able to resolve the issue when using Microsoft Edge. That is correct, by default the proxy settings are disabled unless you need it for a VPN or a specific application. As long as it does not affect the normal usage of your computer
