Windows 10: Windows 10 is making it impossible to type!

Since I upgraded to Windows 10 I have huge problems typing anywhere whilst online... It keeps freezing and not responding. Very, very annoying!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

The issue might be due to the incompatibility of the software with Windows 10.

Windows 10 is a new operating system hence most of the programs and softwares are not compatible with it.

I would suggest you to contact software manufacturer in order to update the software to be compatible with Windows 10.

The other day I opened my computer and a screen appeared asking me to download Windows 10, I clicked on the "download later" button and Windows 10 started downloading. After the download I could not get my Accounting Package "Pastel" to work. It kept on
giving me the following error code 2147221503 - Application not valid - Please specify the correct application path- Reg checking cannot continue.

I was advised by Pastel support to try and uninstall Pastel and reinstall Pastel again.

When I tried to uninstall Pastel I got the following error messages: Error 2502 - Install finalizes when no install in progress, and error 2503 - Run script when not marked in progress.

I tried on the internet to find a solution to the problem and eventually had to purchase a "Tech Utilities" programme which gave me the following "solution".

Unregister Windows installer, and then reregister Windows installer by doing the following.

On the "start" menu, click run

in the open box, type "msiexec/unreg", then press Enter.

When you press ENTER the computer tells you it does not know what you are talking about?

The second method:

Click on Start and in the Start Search Bar - type in - c:/windows/installer - press enter.

I then started looking for away to uninstall Windows 10 - one place I found said, click on task Bar, click on settings? there are no settings on the task Bar. I went through every program on the task bar until I found something that mentioned settings, eventually
found a link to uninstall Windows 10. After converting back to Windows 8.1 my Pastel was working again although I lost 4 months data.

How can Microsoft expect us to download Windows 10 when it messes up your programmes?

Is this happening in a specific program or more generally?

What make and model is your keyboard? Have you downloaded the drivers for it?

 

It's a Lenovo laptop - it's happening throughout. Ms office, gmail, Internet search engines

every four or five letters it just freezes and stops reflecting what is typed.

 

I have the same problem with applications, Yahoo IM, Skype, Office apps, where it sort of eventually "catches up". I am running an Acer Switch 10 validated to run Win10

 

Did you guys try updating your drivers? Go to lenevo and acer's support website to search and update your drivers to latest version.

 

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I ran into much the same freezing problem -- and I confirmed that I had the latest drivers.

The only thing that fixed it -- and this seems to be the most common solution -- was to do a clean install.

My guess is that it was something that was a hold over from Win8.1 that was causing the problem.

 

I have not seen this problem on my Lenovo laptop, but I have seen it on others, and sometimes it was due to a bad battery. Removing the battery and using the power cord confirmed it.

If you have Google Chrome Browser x64, uninstall it and use the 32-bit version.

Another thing you could try is turning off Fast Startup. Then shut it down a few times and start it up again. Don't do a "restart", do complete shutdowns and startups.

Run SFC /SCANNOW from administrator command prompt.

Other than that, I have to agree with Mark (above) on a reset, as carryovers from previous OSs can be problems in W10.

 

Lenovo installs specific drivers in Windows 8(.1) and 7 that are not compatible with W10. I know, we run a huge Lenovo user install. The drivers are part of their "improvement" packages that gives you battery saver, network drivers and the likes. Upgrade windows 7 or 8.1 to windows 10 to register the eligibility and then take a backup of the data and clean install from the Windows 10 ISO. I know, I know the upgrade tool told you your system was compatible and the fact of the matter is that the drivers are running (like they will run and they do not pose any security risk) the fact of the matter is that these drivers cause interrupt issues with the operating system. Similar to keeping your network on all the time and not let the software turn it off (bluetooth is also one of them). Sorry to be the bringer of this news, we have had over 45 upgrades so far and had to remove the Lenovo tools, even that did not help much so we wiped and reinstalled. by the way these were mostly T series laptops (T420s, T520 and 530), for some reason the X1 Carbon is not affected...

 

Within the first few days after my Win 7-->Win 10 upgrade, I had a problem with the mouse clicks not working for up to 2 minutes at a time, and then the clicks would work (it had not affected the movement of the cursor though!)

It was suggested to me to do driver updates, but this was a basic USB optical mouse from years back..there's no updating that.

Then the problem suddenly went away. I had done no driver updates at all.

The only thing I knew for sure was going on was Win10 updates DAILY!

Pretty sure THAT was the problem. If you can't resolve it, be patient: Microsoft Windows 10 Change Instrument group (or whatever they're called) are probably working furiously to tweak your problem behind the scenes. That's the only explanation I can find for what happened in my case. I can't accept that my machine adapted to the new operating environment by itself. It had to be Win10 changing

 

I get it every now and then. I am writing it up to poor resource management by the Kernel. It is sad that you have to spend as much time waiting for it to be ready to log in, just like the old days.

I just look at it as a way to go get my coffee ready and go take a shower, when I log in.

 

Thanks everyone... I disabled the battery saving actions on the start up and the problem has stopped! There were three with high impact.

It seems as if I am having exactly the same problem, when writing emails on my Desk Top PC (Yahoo Mail)

I not only did a Clean Install but also formatted the Disc.

Being a 'one finger' typist, I don't type very fast but Windows 10 just can't seem to keep up.

The Cursor randomly freezes for a few seconds or else starts missing letters, all of which is incredibly annoying.
