Windows 10: Windows 10 is unstable and unreliable since the latest update.

Since the last mega update of windows 10 I have been having problems with memory management . The laptop then goes to the BSOD and then fails. I have tried 3 times now using a usb memory stick copy of 10 downloaded last year and this worked OK but as soon as microsoft cuts in and does all the latest updates things just fail as soon as I start loading my backup copies to rebuild the machine. I tried a newly purchased 1TB SSD but that goes to BSOD once all the updates creep in and I have tried the process in another laptop and that has just updated and gone to BSOD. Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

 

Windows 10 is unstable!

On the contrary - Windows 10 like the previous Windows model remains unstable .. slow at times being hesitant in what it may or may not do. Good example, System Restore does NOT work. It did so right at first but now with me running Windows 10 1511,
still today the System Restore does NOT work. Unstable or unreliable. . . it is a simple pick that has no resolution since Windows 10 was free!

 

Help with unstable system

latest update,
I have changed psu for xfx 750W and keeping to stock values and use on board graphics, the system seems stable , has been for several days. If I try to unleash, then Its prone to occasional crashing.
So next step was to put HD6950 in with CPU in stock setting.
System very unstable again. crashes after about 5 mins.
I have lots of fans , CPU temp ~35deg, HDD ~30deg,
HD6950 ~ 49deg
When system crashes, I dont get bSOD but a grey screen with thin black vertical lines. I then have to re-boot . I get back, Windows reports error with usual 124 error.
Could the CPU be an issue ?
Dont have another to test.
Any suggestions ?
