Windows 10: Windows 10 issue: No taskbar items, no start menu, no search box functionality, no sound

Windows 10 Lenovo desktopComputer froze when using Word.Used Alt+Ctrl+Del to shutdown.On starting usual screen image and sigh in.Once signed in black scree for about a minute then on to desktop view but...No items on taskbarNo Start menuSearch box not responsive: no cursor if I click in it and no text if I type in it. So can't do CMD promptNo sound have tried YouTube.Can't seem to screenshot If I try to open a folder on the desktop I get a dialogue box: see image.I can open MS Edge but if I open something else it disappears.Thank you in advance for your help.Best regards, Rob

Search box on taskbar missing.

Hi John,

This issue with search box may happen if it's hidden from the taskbar.

To resolve the issue, follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the taskbar and select Search.
• Select Show search box.

Windows 10 Pinned item not working HELP!

Delete the account/profile.

Or try this. You have a os update or a piece of software doing this.

Last resort reinstall windows.

 

Windows 10 Start Menu, search and Cortana still not functioning correctly

I had some issues with Start Menu not functioning. this was solved in a post by a Microsoft Engineer Giridhar J. However, although the Start menu is now functioning along with the notifications. there are some glitches still.

I cannot pin folders to the start menu. Search and Cortana still does not work properly. Search is glitchy at best having to click on the start button then immediately click in the search box for it to work. Cortana does not work and is not listed as a app
any more.

Any suggestions?
